Each state has unique requirements for licensing, each written independently and modeled differently. You may need multiple licenses: one for cultivation, another for manufacturing, and a separate one for distribution. Other states allow all three operations to be combined under one license. We can help you navigate your state’s regulations and licensing requirements.
The type of equipment for marijuana manufacturing depends on the size of your operation and the production levels you need to achieve. Your requirements may vary depending on which strains (and how many) you plan to produce, the area you live in, your production goals and your future plans.
Irrigation: Special equipment for manufacturing marijuana depends on the size of your operation. In any case, you’ll need to control the air temperature, quality, and circulation in your facility. Exhaust fans will pull in fresh air and remove warm air and provide the circulation your plants need.
Lighting: How much lighting you’ll need depends on the size of your cultivation area. It’s important not to crowd a lot of plants under a small number of lamps so they get as much light as possible. A full lighting system requires a hood, ballast and bulb.
Temperature Control: Keeping the temperature constant is a product of how much light you have, the air circulation, the time of year and your facility’s insulation. Too hot and the plants begin to stress and could die as a result. Too cool and you encourage mold and mildew, which also causes stress. Having reliable HVAC controls is critical to growth and predictable yield.
Odor Control: Charcoal carbon filters are effective in removing most odors. If you need to remove an odor very quickly, ionizers are a great back-up solution. Sensors, Controls and CO2 Emitters: Sensors alert you to changes in conditions, when CO2 is needed, how moist the soil is, etc. Controls automate the lighting, air conditioning, fans, etc. Having a system in place to control your growing environment ensures a more reliable yield and better return on your investment.
Solar Panel installations: With the introduction of net metering and feed-in tariff (FIT) schemes, business owners can now “sell” excess electricity, or receive bill credits, during times when they produce more electricity than what they actually consume. This means that business owners can reduce their overall electricity expenses by going solar. You can also receive a tax credit!
